Let the Sunshine In (2017) is illustrious French filmmaker, Claire Denis's 2017 heartfelt film about the disappointments and ecstasies of romantic courtship as experienced by a divorced 50-something (the incandescent Juliette Binoche) who simply will not compromise in her pursuit of true love. Straddling the line between the cerebralism of the French arthouse and the accessible cineplex romcom, Let the Sunshine In is a richly dialogue-driven affair in which characters attempt to decode each other’s intentions through cat-and-mouse verbal games. Through it all, Denis centers a woman's desire and the results are sensual, funny, melancholic, witty, and heartfelt.
