O Brother Where Art Thou, written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen is a rollicking tale set in the deep south during the 1930's. Three escaped convicts (played by George Clooney, John Turturro, and Tim Blake Nelson) search for hidden treasure and cross paths with an array of curious characters, while trying to stay one step ahead of relentless lawmen. The film was nominated for two Oscars at the 2001 Academy Awards - Best Adapted Screenplay (Joel and Ethan Coen) and Best Cinematography (Roger Deakins).
