New Downbeat is a new music ensemble that was created in February 2019. This ensemble features all female-identifying musicians, as well as a group of in-residence composers. This is their first season, featuring three main concerts mainly filled with premiers (11/3/19, 3/1/20, and 5/5/20). New Downbeat's Founder and Artistic Director is Caroline Sackleh. The purpose of New Downbeat is to provide a space for female-identifying musicians to perform live, as well as focus only on performing music written by living composers.
